Campbell, Malcolm 1885 - 1948. British racing driver He once held both land and water speed records. He set the land speed record nine times, pushing it up to 484.8 kph/301.1 mph at Bonneville Flats, Utah, USA, in 1935, and broke the water-speed record three times, the best being 228.2 kph/141.74 mph on Coniston Water, England, in 1939. His car and boat were both called Bluebird. Knighted 1931. His son Donald Campbell emulated his feats.
